How we use AI in hiring

What the software does

• Runs the application conversation. An AI guide asks the screening questions the hiring team wrote and follows up to understand your answers. You can edit every answer before you submit.
• Organizes your application for a person to read. It writes a summary of what you said, matched to what the role asks for, with quotes. It is written to describe, not to judge.
• Prepares the recruiter for a phone call. Before a phone screen, it drafts questions from your resume with your name and contact details removed. After the call, it organizes the recruiter's notes.
• Drafts stage emails. The emails you receive about your application are drafted by AI and sent only after a person on the hiring team reads and approves them.

What it never does

• It does not score, rank, or filter applicants, and it does not recommend a decision.
• It does not decide anything. Every move of your application is made by a named person on the hiring team, who records their reason.
• It is instructed never to consider or infer age, family, health, disability, religion, national origin, citizenship, criminal history, salary history, gaps in employment, or where you went to school, and it is tested for this.
• Your data is not sold and is not used to train AI models.

Your record, and correcting it

You can see and edit your answers at any time before you submit, and see the status of each application afterwards under My applications. If something in your application is wrong or out of date, or you believe a decision was made on incorrect information, reply to any email from the hiring team and say so. A person will read it and can update your record or reconsider.

Closed applications are deleted 365 days after they close. You can withdraw an application at any time from My applications.
